2019 David Duband Nuits St Georges Aux Thorey Premier Cru

David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.

A distinctly cool nose is also quite spicy with its array of red currant, cherry and plum. The nicely textured and relatively sophisticated medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the balanced, focused and impressively persistent finish that, like the Clos Sorbé, has a bitter cherry pit character. This is pretty much textbook Aux Thorey. Drink 2031+.
