2019 Collector Marked Tree Red Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Spicy dark plum and liquorice aromas lead the way followed by some smoky vanillin cedar and peppered meat notes. The ripe yet savoury mid weighted palate has a fleshy feel featuring dark plum and liquorice fruit over scorched earth, vanillin cedar and peppered meat characters. Polished tannins with a medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Hand-picked fruit off several sites around Murrumbateman, whole bunches in open fermenters with pigeage; aged in new and used French oak for 8 months. An excellent dark red befitting a structured wine, but this is not weighty. Full of dark cherries, licorice, fennel plus cedary oak, yet it sits right in the savoury camp, with ripe tannins and a flourish across the medium-bodied palate to a lightly dry finish.
