2019 Bouvet Saphir Brut Vintage

Outside of Champagne, Bouvet is the most awarded Sparkling Wine House in France, garnering praise from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Decanter Magazine and others. After many years of ownership by Champagne Taittinger, Bouvet Ladubay is once again fully owned by the Monmousseau family who have continuously run the business since their purchase in 1932. Bouvet Ladubay employs precisely the same wine making process as Grand Marque Champagne, delivering French sophistication at an everyday price.

A frothy mousse slowly subsides to reveal a pale straw coloured base that has an ample stream of fine bubbles flowing through it. Elevated pear, green apple and baked bread scents are complimented by yeast lees and citrusy quince like notes. Highly refreshing and abundant in its flavour, the palate is filled with pear, subtle baked apple and citrus fruits which evolve into some bready yeast lees characters on the back half. Finishes dry and crisp with a faint toastiness evident on the gently creamed aftertaste.
