2018 Three Hills Grenache Shiraz Mataro

A blend of 62% Grenache, 31% Shiraz and 7% Mataro matured in a combination of new and older French oak puncheons. Midnight black dark red in colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Intoxicating dark to black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas flow though the nostrils trailed by dried herbs, scorched earth and peppered meats. Rich and succulent, the palate is awash with moreish black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits which have a Southern Rhone like feel. Lying underneath are notions of scorched earth, herbs du Provence, dried meats and pepper. Velvety tannins with a long and expressive conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
