2018 Taittinger Vintage Champagne
Refined, stylish and sophisticated Champagne.
The Taittinger Vintage Brut is produced exclusively from first press wines, blended from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. Grands Cru vineyards make up a significant proportion of the blend at 70%, while the other selected villages are all classified as Premiers Crus. Aged on lees for over 5 years.
Pours with a satiny mousse that slowly fades into a pale straw to pale gold coloured base which is threaded by a very fine and extremely persistent bead. Elevated pear and citrus aromas are accompanied by yeast lees, faint quince, chalk and delicate cashew notes. Refined, stylish and sophisticated, the airy palate is detailed with pear, baked bread, yeast lees and subtle oily cashew flavours. Some citrus and delicate brioche characters linger across the back half. Pillowy textural feel with crisp, chalk tinged acidity and a long, gorgeously finessed finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 12.5%
