2018 Levrier Peritas Zinfandel

Full bodied and chewy with a firm tannin structure.

Matured for 24 months in new French oak. Deep black dark red core with a very dark red hue. Heady ripe black plum, dried cherry, liquorice and blackberry scents sweep through the nostrils with plenty of force. Spicy vanillin cedar and mocha elements ensue. A mix of dried cherry, liquorice and morello cherry flavours greet the palate with plenty of weight. Spicy vanillin cedar, cinnamon and earthy leather components trail off onto the back half. A firm, sturdy tannin structure imparts a chewy feel with the finish starting to dry out a touch.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Single-vineyard zinfandel matured for 24 months in new French oak. Crimson in the glass with rich aromas of macerated blood plum and black cherry with hints of crème de cassis, baking spices, leather, cedar, tobacco leaf, earth and peach skin. Notes of mahogany and mocha join in on the palate, which is full bodied, with dense tannin and some fig notes on the powerful finish. Drink by 2028.
