Co-fermented with 3% Viognier and matured in French oak of which 35% was new for a period of 18 months. Impenetrable black dark purple heart with a deep bright dark purple hue. Pronounced dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruits are freshened up by some blueberry scents with subtle smoky vanillin cedar, light fennel and pepper notes in tow. Full and rich, dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits are eloquently draped across the palate with elements of vanillin cedar, blueberries, subtle dark chocolate and spice in the background. Plush yet refined mouthfeel with velvety, perfectly integrated tannins combining with well concealed fresh acidity to form the framework. Excellent power with a long ranging finish.
