2018 Geddes Seldom Inn Shiraz

The Seldom Inn name is derived from founder Pat Geddes who often used to unplug the phone from the wall or ask his kids to tell callers he wasn’t home so he could enjoy life. As a result his business associates made him a sign to hang on his driveway entrance which simply stated ‘Seldom Inn’.
Matured in 30% new French oak for 20 months. Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced dark plum, blackberry and liquorice scents fill the nostrils with some vanillin oak, earth and spicy fennel notes lingering in the background. Plump and juicy the medium to full bodied palate is decorated with dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits. Spicy vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and pepper elements sit underneath. Very polished in its feel with velvety tannins and a long, rich, generously textured aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
