The sister company of Caliterra, Errazuriz Estate was founded by Don Maximiano Errázuriz in 1870 who planted the first French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley. His descendant, the charismatic Eduardo Chadwick renown for his Sena blend and tireless promotion of Chilean wines runs the company today. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, 70% of this wine was aged for 7 months in French oak barrels.

A terrific introduction to Chilean Carmenere that combines the varietal's richness with its trademark tobacco overlay.

Displays outstanding depth of colour, an impenetrable inky black at its core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of blackcurrant and liquorice have a distinct tobacco overlay with notes of smoky black olive and spicy dried herbs also present. Medium to full in body, the palate is richly flavoured with blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which are interwoven with tobacco, spicy cedar and earthy black olive characters. Fleshy mouthfeel finishing with ever so slightly chalky yet fine grained tannins, good freshness and a refined aftertaste. Super value.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
