2018 Dexter Chardonnay

Maturation took place in French oak puncheons (16% new, 22% second use, 5% third use and 57% older) for approximately 10 months and 40% of the wine completed malolactic fermentation.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Aromas of white peach, nectarine, dried honey and biscuity oak are delivered with an understated intensity followed by subtle hints of citrusy nougat characters, cashew and faint gun flint. Medium to full bodied with a creamed mouthfeel, flavours of rich white peach, ripe nectarine and dried honey are dispersed across the palate over a biscuity oak, nougat, light cashew and spice background. Finishes with good freshness and a long refined aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
