2018 Condie The Gwen Heathcote Shiraz

Condie Estate, owned by Richie & Rosanne Condie have two vineyards in the Heathcote region, one on Lewis Road north of Heathcote, the other situated on Kyneton Road at Wild Duck Creek 5kms south west of Heathcote. The fruit for the Gwen is predominately sourced from the 4 acres of Shiraz planted in 1990 at Kyneton Road vineyard with maturation taking place in a combination of new and used French and American oak for 18 months.

A beautifully balanced Heathcote Shiraz, rich and plush yet polished and refined.

Midnight black core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced dark plum, blackberry and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils with dark chocolate, vanillin oak, earth and spicy mocha also chiming in. Rich and opulent in its texture, the full bodied palate is awash with lush dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruits. Spicy vanillin oak, subtle dark chocolate and earthy mocha characters linger in the background. Polished and refined with velvet smooth tannins it possesses excellent depth and concentration finishing long and sumptuous. Gold medal at the 2021 Australian Small Winemakers Wine show and 2021 Heathcote Wine Show.
