2018 Brash Higgins FRNC Cabernet Franc

From vines planted in 2001 this wine was matured in French oak hogsheads for 12 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red black tinged hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant and mulberry scents marry into black olive, dusty cedar, tobacco and spice notes. Layered across the medium to full bodied palate are rich red to black currant fruits which are complexed by cedary tobacco characters, dried herb, subtle black olive and spice. Silky mid palate feel with sturdy tannins firming up the finish a little. Finishes long, refined and polished.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
