Matured in French oak. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Nosing offers up classic blackcurrant and black olive aromas followed by some mulberry, cedary tobacco characters and bay leaf. Rich blackcurrant fruits meld into dusty cedar, tobacco and spicy black olive elements on the medium bodied palate. Dryish finish with firmly built tannins providing some grip. Picks up accents of bay leaf on the medium length aftertaste.
