Deep bright dark red core with a light purple tinted red hue. Very pretty, the nose sees fragrant aromatics of violets, ripe red currants and red cherries subtlety infused with clove blossom from the glass with light tobacco and spicy herb notes also evident. Light to medium bodied, the delicious juicy red currant and cherry fruits have a very supple feel with infusions of dried herbs, subtle tobacco and spice ensuing. Bright underlying acidity with polished tannins and a medium length finish that’s very savoury.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
So good to see more than a few of these crunchy fresh styles being made locally these days. Perky wines a specialty from old Perky Faced™ Tim Shand.
Blackcurrant, ripe raspberry, ash and lots of spice, sweet capsicum. Light bodied, but good intensity of small berried fruits, sappy green and spicy things are punctuation marks here, rather than text, acidity is fresh and slaty, tannin forms a fine dust, and the finish is cool and fresh. Great thing to drink. Drink 2018-2021+
