Totally opaque black dark red core with a bright dark red hue. Alluring scents of dark cherries, plum and liquorice blossom from the glass complexed by elements of smoky cedar, hints of dried meat and clove, fennel and pepper. Displaying great finesse the palate is decorated with spicy plum, liquorice and blueberry fruits which are both refined and supple in feel. Sitting underneath these moreish fruits are subtle nuances of smoky cedar, light earthy fennel and pepper. Beautiful acid and tannin integration with a long velvety aftertaste.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews…..
Follows Bailey Carrodus's method of co-fermenting small amounts of viognier, marsanne adding floral notes, and mataro adding spice. It's another exquisite wine from '17, capturing all the senses immediately you assess the bouquet and palate. It's only just into medium-bodied territory, but it's mouthwatering in its intensity, red fruits flying high like a gaudy scarlet kite. Drink by 2042.
