2017 De Iuliis LDR Vineyard Shiraz Touriga

A blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Touriga Nacional. Totally opaque bright dark purple black colour with a vibrant purple red hue. The nose features fragrant aromatics of crushed dark cherries, plum and liquorice infused with violets followed by hints of earth and peppered fresh herb notes. Juicy dark plum and ripe cherry fruits fill the medium to full bodied palate endearing it with a fleshy feel. Undertones of liquorice, vanillin cedar, subtle earth and traces of peppered herbs are also present. Bright youthful acidity and velvety tannins lead into a long, fresh and savoury aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

An 80/20% blend designed for early drinking, that won a top-gold medal at the Hunter Valley Wine Show '18. An unusually floral bouquet is promptly followed by a juicy/fleshy mid-palate, the fine tannins which then appear simply providing structure. I would bet the proverbial house that this will comfortably sail through '30 if any stray bottles came to light in the cellar. Drink by 2030.
