2016 Tscharke Estate Grenache Mataro

A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mataro. Deep dark purple black colour with a bright purple hue. Top notes of dark plum and dark raspberries are followed by hints of liquorice, dried herbs and spicy earth. Plump and supple in its mouthfeel the palate features a juicy flavour profile of dark plums, dark raspberries and liquorice over some blueberries and subtle earth with a spicy finish. Good vibrant acidity combines with velvet like tannins and a long delicious aftertaste of spicy dark plum, dark raspberries, liquorice and faint scorched earth infusions.
