2016 Parker Coonawarra Estate First Growth
Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. Leaping out of the glass are aromatics of ripe blackcurrant and mulberry which are intermeshed with vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth and spicy bay leaf notes. Full in body the palate boasts rich blackcurrant fruits which engulf the mouth over a background of mulberry, dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and spice. Fantastic concentration with very polished yet sturdy tannins and a long powerful finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
A cabernet with a lengthy history of excellence. It is from a single vineyard planted in '85. The vines are fully mature, and the blackcurrant fruit revels in the generous proportion of new French oak allocated to it every year. Drink by 2046.
