2016 Izway Harold Eden Valley Shiraz

The Harold is Izway’s Eden Valley take on Shiraz opening with a dense inky black core and a very deep dark red black hue. Penetrating the olfactory senses are heady aromas of blackberry, liquorice and hints of dark plum which meld into smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, traces of earthy dark chocolate and spice. Lavish blackberry, liquorice and spicy dark plum flavours converge with smoky vanillin cedar, subtle dried cloves, fennel and elements of spice. There’s a sturdy feel to the tannins which imparts some dryness and grip to the back palate. Long aftertaste of spicy dark plums, liquorice, blackberries, smoky cedar, fennel and subtle earthy dried herbs.
