2016 Chardonnay by Farr GC Cote Vineyard

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Intense yet showing plenty of finesse the nose offers up aromas of white peach, ripe pear and dried honey; cashew, biscuity oak and spicy nougat ensuing. Rich and refined with a beautifully textured mouthfeel that’s both round and creamy it resembles a top tier white Burgundy. Mouth filling flavours of ripe peaches, nectarines and pears overlaid by dried honey characters sway gracefully across the palate with an under card of biscuity oak, cashew, spicy nougat and faint specks of gun flint. Dry balanced finish with perfectly judged acidity. Outstanding length with a long ripe peach, nectarine, dried honey, biscuity oak, nougat and spice aftertaste. Slightly more elegant and finer in its feel than the 2015.
