2016 Best's Great Western Riesling

Best’s consistently produce outstanding Rieslings which are rated as one of the country’s best. Their Riesling vines were first planted as part of Henry Best’s ‘Nursery Block’ vineyard in the 1860’s with subsequent plantings in 1944 and 1978.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Lifted aromas of ripe lime and red apple laced with honeysuckle are followed by some citrus and spice. Fresh and vibrant the palate is filled with mouth watering flavours of ripe lime, red apples, pears and honeysuckle finishing crisp with some citrusy mineral characters. Long aftertaste of ripe lime, fresh red apples, honeysuckle and citrusy mineral.
Drink now or cellar 6-8 years.
