From vines planted in 1912, this wine was matured in French oak puncheons for 24 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Opulent blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents fill the nostrils followed by dark chocolate, vanillin oak, light scorched earth and spice notes. Decadently rich ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits have a voluptuous textural feel with toasty vanillin oak, traces of mocha and spice moving in on the back half. Silky smooth tannins with resounding power and a long plump, showy aftertaste.
