Opaque dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Black raspberry and liquorice aromas waft out of the glass followed by dark plums, vanillin oak, subtlety scorched earth and spice. Rich voluptuously textured palate with black raspberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours infused with a good dose of vanillin oak which carries right through to the spicy finish. Silky smooth tannins. Long vanillin oak dominated aftertaste of black raspberries, liquorice, dark plums and spice. The vanillin oak is too over bearing and tends to drown out the fruit.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 15.5%

Other Reviews…
Pale to medium garnet-purple, the 2015 Les Amis has a disarmingly gorgeous nose of red cherry tart, dried rose petals, cinnamon stick and white pepper with hints of hoisin and forest floor. Full-bodied, soft, curvaceous and generously endowed in the mouth, this buxom beauty is a hedonist’s dream, finishing with a spicy kick that keeps you coming back for more. Drink 2017-2029.
