2015 Salo Yarra Valley Chardonnay
Brilliant very pale straw colour with a greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of white peaches and ripe nectarines laced with dried honey rise out of the glass with an undercard of subtle cashew and citrusy nougat. Fresh and textured the palate has vibrant flavours of ripe white peaches and nectarines which meld into some delicate dried honey, faint cashew and citrusy nougat characters. Clean dry finish with an aftertaste of white peaches, nectarines, dried honey, subtle spicy cashew and citrusy nougat.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

From a vineyard in Gladysdale, which is a nice place name. Sort of homely and happy at once.
Pie apple and spice, a whiff of struck match, maybe some lime and lemon. It’s smooth and fleshy, with an almost peppery feel in flavour and texture, ripe citrus smoothed with almond, and a long finish that rings like a bell. Beauty. A short note for a great wine.
