Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative of 51 growers that controls more than 250 acres of premium Nebbiolo vineyards in Barbaresco. This wine is blend of Nebbiolo fruit harvested from different vineyards. In great vintages they also produce nine single vineyard Barbaresco’s located within the Barbaresco village boundaries of Asili, Rabaja, Pora, Montestefano, Ovello, Paje, Montefico, Muncagota and Rio Sordo.

Decorated with juicy red fruits that have a weightless elegance.

Deep dark red core with tinges of black around the edges and a light red hue. Fragrantly scented, the nose offers up classic Nebbiolo aromatics of rose petals, ripe red cherries, strawberries and raspberries followed by infusions of fresh herbs, light earth and spice. Delicious red cherry and strawberry fruits decorate the light to medium weight palate, underpinned by vibrant acidity which give it a crunchy feel. Subtle liquorice, infusions of fresh herbs, light earth and spice are also apparent. Finishes dry with great freshness and life. The tannins are not as broad shouldered as their Barolo counterparts yet still have a slightly chalky feel which provides some grip to the ending. Excellent depth concluding with a long bright red fruited aftertaste that’s quite moreish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews....
The 2015 vintage opens to a visibly darker color and thicker concentration compared to recent past vintages. Next to the upcoming 2016 and 2017 editions, we can expect 2015 to be the most fruit-forward of the three. You get dark tones of plum and blackberry with dry tannins at the rear.

The 2015 Barbaresco, bottled in March 2018, is surprisingly potent. Then again, the 2015 is the product of a warm year often characterized by wines with rich fruit and equally big, sometimes coarse, tannins. Succulent red cherry, mint, white pepper and crushed flowers all show the finessed side of Nebbiolo. A hint of new oak needs time to fully integrate, but that should not be an issue in time.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous

Charming aromas of cherry, strawberry and rose are inviting in this red, with flavors to match, showing ripeness and focus. Earth and mineral elements chime in as this firms up, but the harmony is there and this should really sing in about five years. Best from 2022 through 2040.

Red fruit, sugared almond, sage and mint, some spice and new leather. Mid-weight, very open for business, liquorice richness but still fresh, fine dusting of tannin, so much charm and even ripeness. Flat out delicious wine, affable and easy to latch on to. Good now and better again over the medium term. Drink 2019-2030.
