2015 Pira Serralunga Barolo

Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed like scents of rose petals combine with ripe cherry and dark raspberry notes followed by fragrant dried herbs, earthy tobacco characters and spice. Delicious spicy ripe cherry and raspberry fruits show terrific intensity backed by vibrant acidity and firm chalky tannins which give the finish a dry grippy feel. Sitting underneath the fruit are scorched earth, dried herb, subtle tobacco and delicate leather nuances. Excellent drive with a long yet savoury aftertaste that has persisting tannic grip.
