2015 Margaux De Brane

Rich, earthy and elegant this is a great value Margaux.

This is the third wine of Chateau Brane-Cantenac. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Overlaying the blackcurrant and subtle liquorice notes are pencil led, traces of cigar box, dusty earth, tobacco and spice aromatics. Elegant and refined the palate is blessed with beautifully textured rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, nuances of earthy cigar box, tobacco and spicy dried herbs also chime in to add further complexity. Very polished, perfectly integrated tannins. Medium to long conclusion of blackcurrant and mulberry infused with earth, cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Owned by Henri Lurton, one of several Lurtons to own property in Margaux, this estate is performing in high gear. Its second wine is rich and concentrated with solid tannins as well as generous blackberry fruits. It will be impressive as it ages. Drink from 2020.
