2015 Giaconda Nantua Les Deux Chardonnay

The second label of Giaconda, the Nantua Chardonnay includes a small component of Roussanne with maturation taking place in French oak (20% new) for a period of 12 months. Brilliant straw colour with some tinges of green around the edges and a watery hue. Showing excellent intensity the nose offers up aromatics of ripe peaches intermixed with dried honey and hints of butterscotch finger biscuits which overlay some flinty struck match stick notes, cashew and spice. Richly flavoured with medium to full body weight and a creamy like textural feel the palate features ripe peach, honeycomb and faint butterscotch biscuit over cashew and spice. Clean dry finish with balanced acidity. Long aftertaste of ripe peaches, honeycomb, a touch of butterscotch biscuit and spicy cashew.
