2015 Fat Bastard Chardonnay

With the current trend of Australian winemakers to produce, lighter, fresher and more elegant styles of Chardonnay, this wine is a great alternative to those looking for a bigger, fuller style. Bright straw colour with a slight tinge of pale gold to the edges. A generously scented nose offers up intense aromatics of ripe peaches and apricots infused with honeycomb and a hint of butterscotch over some light toast and spicy nougat notes. Rich, full and creamy in texture, the palate is dominated by mouthfilling flavours of ripe peaches and apricots with honeycomb, traces of butterscotch, toasty oak and cinnamon spice then moving in. A lick of fresh acidity on the finish counterpoints the round textured mouthfeel and provides balance. Excellent length with a long conclusion of ripe peaches, apricots, infusions of honeycomb, light butterscotch, toasty oak and spicy cinnamon. The Fat Bastard nails it again!
