2015 Douglas Laing & Co. Provenance Tamnavulin 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

You wouldn't know it, but Tamnavulin is on its way to becoming one of the biggest-selling single malts in the world, outstripping premium brands like Ardbeg, Highland Park and Lagavulin. In 2023 it was the 14th best-selling single malt Scotch. It's said their success lies in positioning the brand as affordable and accessible without compromising quality - a formula that should make others take note. Core expressions are often matured in sherry casks. This one's from a single refill hogshead. The outturn was 426 bottles. 46% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Fragrant & powdery with sherbet-coated hard lemon candy, grist and spices. Palate: Mouth-coating and citric with bolder spices, barley and late molasses appearing. Finish: Now it's vanilla toffee and caramel to the fore ahead of a richly malted tail.
