Glenglassaugh spent many years mothballed or closed before restarting production in 2008. Currently owned by Brown-Forman, in 2023 the range underwent a significant rebranding exercise. The quality also took a leap forward with the NAS 'Sandend' winning Whisky Advocate's Whisky of the Year for 2023! Douglas Laing capture this north-east Highlander in a youthful guise, with 351 bottles straight from a refill hogshead. 46% Alc./Vol. Non-chill-filtered.
Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Demerara sugar, orchard fruit, sea breeze, waxy orange, and cinnamon. Palate: Juicy red berries, balanced by vanilla, ginger, and peppercorn. Finish: Fruity flapjack and creamy malt.
