Other Reviews....
The 2015 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Argillas has a lovely oyster shell tinged bouquet with joyous black cherry and bilberry aromas. I appreciate the precision of this Nuits Saint-Georges, hints of violets emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a touch of orange sorbet infusing the dark cherry fruit with a saline touch on the finish. Keeping its cards close to its chest, I suspect it will offer much more with two or three years in bottle.

A mildly toasty nose still allows the cool, pure and ripe wild red berry aromas that are liberally laced with earth, game and humus wisps to be appreciated. There is excellent density and punch to the brooding, intense and muscular flavors that exude evident minerality onto the presently linear, rustic and moderately austere finish. This will require a few years to better harmonize but the underlying material is so good that this should ultimately be excellent. Recommended if you have the patience.

(from 45-year-old vines): Medium red with ruby tones. More complex than the Gevrey Champerrier but also with obvious torrefaction notes of coffee and dark chocolate to its dark fruit aromas. A step up in intensity and precision, with cassis and blackberry fruit flavors complicated by violet and bitter chocolate nuances. A rather feminine, north-side Nuits with moderate flesh but very good definition and length. The rather delicate tannins are nicely buffered by a touch of saline minerality. I like this.
