2015 Domaine Christian Salmon Clos des Criots Pouilly Fume

Brilliant pale straw colour with a slight tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. The nose presents aromas of gooseberries intermixed with grassy characters, citrus, faint asparagus and light dried herb end notes. The palate has a broad rounded mouthfeel with a smoky edge but finishes fresh featuring flavours of unripe gooseberries mixed in with asparagus, grassy characters and dried herb infusions. A lightly smoked cedar quality seems to contribute to the fullish textural feel. Clean dry finish. Aftertaste of gooseberries, grassy asparagus characters, citrus, dried herbs and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
