2015 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright crimson purple hue. Perfumed violet top notes overlay dark cherry and fresh strawberry scents with hints of anise, a light meatiness and spicy cedar also present. Very structured and with somewhat restrained power the palate yields flavours of ripe dark cherries and strawberries over some dried meats, earthy cedar and spice. Finishes dry with good freshness and finely grained yet sturdy, tight knit tannins. Long aftertaste of spice, ripe dark cherries, strawberries, some meatiness, earth and spicy cedar. This will open up and evolve with time in bottle, however, its unlikely it will rich the highs of the outstanding 2013 vintage.
