Located in the prestigious Stevens Valley of Margaret River, Voyager Estate is a beacon of quality defined by its meticulous attention to detail and deep environmental conscience. Founded by the late Michael Wright and now led by his daughter Alex Burt, the family-owned estate has evolved into a fully certified organic operation where the health of the ancient, mineral-rich gravel soils remains the top priority. Under the guidance of winemaker Tim Shand and viticulturist Mike Saunders, the estate produces estate-grown, perfumed, and elegantly proportioned wines that sit alongside the region's elite. By micro-managing specific vineyard plots and matching clones to unique geologies, Voyager Estate continues to set the benchmark for sustainable excellence in Australian viticulture.

This classic Margaret River blend, led by fruit from the estate's historic 1978 Old Block, offers a sophisticated profile of perfumed fruit and structural elegance. Matured for nearly two years in fine-grained French oak, the addition of Merlot and Petit Verdot lends a fleshy texture and floral nuance to this impeccably aged museum release.

Other Reviews....
90% cabernet sauvignon, 6% merlot and 4% petit verdot. Deep, bright purple-crimson hue; the expressive indeed, perfumed bouquet points the way for the elegant medium-bodied palate, where juicy fruit, oak and tannins are fused seamlessly together. An appropriate wine for Voyager's 40th anniversary, certain to celebrate its 50th. The difficulty will be keeping your hands off it. Drink by 2028.

Labelled as cabernet sauvignon (only) though there is some merlot in the mix.
A beauty. Cabernet to the nth degree. So well structured, so well fruited. Blackcurrant, bay leaves, whispers of both milk and dark chocolate, black olives. It’s juicy, it’s substantial, it’s drawn with firm, fine, sweet tannin. Pretty much a certainly to perform well in the cellar. Drink 2020-2032+.

10 years young and humming. One of Voyager’s best Cabernet vintages—and a personal fave! Olive dust, cacao, and blackberry pie. It will continue on its path to greatness for another 8-10 years, but if you lean toward the bright primary fruit of young Cabernet, your best window is now. Gravel dust, char, and fig. This wine feels calm and complete, with integrated, chocolate powder tannins and wrinkled nuances. Decant this king before drinking. Drink with roast lamb. Drink 2025-2035.
