2014 Mahana Clays & Gravels Pinot Noir

Certified organic with 60% whole bunches included. Maturation took place in French oak barriques (25% new) for 18 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe dark cherries and plums laced with hints of violets and anise are followed by some toasty vanillin oak and spice. Light with a drying finish the palate has flavours of dark cherries, incense infusions and plums that are overlaid by toasty oak followed by some spicy earth. Dry dusty finish with grainy tannins. Moderate aftertaste of spicy dark cherries, earth, toasty oak and subtle incense infusions.
