2014 Lady of the Glen Linkwood Single Cask #300676a 10 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

When you think you’ve had enough of sweet finishes, Gregor Hannah pulls this little beauty out of a first-fill PX octave. Linkwood's deliciously fruity distillate is on show. The aromas hint at pineapple pudding and ripe peach fused with sweet sherry and raisins. Rich and rounded, the palate is sustained by an intense rush of ripe orchard fruits. Warm spices and a gentle grip of oak slowly come through, driving the palate beyond the norm. Almost lush without being too sweet. Not the first time Lady of the Glen have tried a Linkwood in a PX Octave. They were obviously convinced it worked - as it does here. If rarity is your thing, just 58 bottles made it to market. 53% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Our Christmas release for 2024. Matured in a hogshead and finished in an ex-Pedro Ximenez Octave for 6 months adding sweetness and a distinctly festive character. Tasting revealed - candied ginger, gingerbread with icing and cherry tart.
