2014 Hanging Rock Rich Reef Shiraz

The fruit for this Shiraz was sourced from the Bendigo and Heathcote regions with ageing taking place in a mixture of French and American oak barriques. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a dark purple hue. Aromas of dark plum and liquorice are followed by vanillin oak, confectionary and faint pepper end notes. Medium weighted the palate has a relatively uncomplex flavour profile of dark plums, liquorice, vanillin cedar and earthy pepper. Dry finish with chalky tannins. Modest aftertaste of earthy plum, subtle liquorice and pepper.
