2014 Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. After some coaxing the nose reveals aromas of liquorice, blackberries and inky graphite like notes over vanillin cedar and spice. More accessible the palate has both good richness and a sense of elegance with generous flavours of liquorice, blackberries and ripe plum over lightly toasted vanillin cedar and spicy pepper. There’s an underlying sturdiness to the very finely grained tannins. Good length with a long aftertaste of spicy blackberries, liquorice, plum, lightly toasted vanillin cedar and subtle pepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
