2014 Condie The Gwen Heathcote Shiraz

Matured in a combination of new and used French and American oak for 18 months. Impenetrable inky black dark purple colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. Lifted ripe black cherry, liquorice and blackberry aromas rise from the glass underscored by vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Huge palate presence with decadently rich ripe black cherry, liquorice and blackberry flavours saturating every crevasse of the mouth. Nuances of spicy vanillin oak and blackpepper following on. There’s a touch of heat on the finish with a sturdy tannin structure framing the vast layers of opulent fruit. Outstanding power and concentration with a long lavish conclusion of ripe black cherries, blackberries, liquorice, spicy vanillin oak and blackpepper. A very rich, opulent style of Heathcote Shiraz.
