2014 Cofield Rutherglen Durif

Totally opaque black core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced Morello cherry and liquorice top notes are trailed by some dark plum, vanillin oak and a faint whiff of pepper. Full bodied the palate possesses richly textured flavours of ripe black cherries and liquorice which sits over a backdrop of spicy vanillin oak and subtle infusions of pepper. A set of robust tannins providing some grip on the finish. Aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, vanillin oak, subtle earth and pepper.
Cellar 4-5 years.
