2014 Cape Mentelle Wallcliffe Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc
Totally opaque dark red black colour with a deep dark red hue. Elevated red and blackcurrant aromas meld into some lightly toasted vanillin cedar and spicy tobacco characters with dried herb end notes. Medium bodied a litany of ripe red and black currant fruits fill the mouth over cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and spice. Dryish finish with grainy, sturdily built tannins. Concludes with a medium to long red and black currant, mulberry, cedary tobacco character and spicy dried herb aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

A gorgeous mid-purple-black hue; a complex bouquet cassis, cranberries mingling with an array of spices with bitter chocolate and black tea, and a cardamom/menthol/eucalypt note, not distracting but obvious. Silky and generous palate yet medium-bodied with the tannins and oak all in line. Drink by 2030.
