2014 Bouvet Tresor

Made from Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay grapes this excellent sparkling cuvee has been fermented and aged in oak barrels to add further complexity to the blend. Pours nicely with a frothy white mousse that shows good hold. Pale straw colour with pale gold edgings and an exceptionally fine bead that’s very persistent. Elevated baked bread, citrus and yeast lees top notes are followed by pear and subtle creamy cashew. On the palate initial yeasty baked bread characters are counterpointed by some refreshing citrus and pear flavours with an undercarriage of subtle oily toast nuances. Refined creamy like mouthfeel with a dry mouth watering finish. Long conclusion of bready yeast lees, subtle cashew, citrus and faint oily toast like characters.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
