2014 Beechworth Wine Estates Reserve Merlot

Opaque black crimson red colour with a dark crimson red hue. The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant intermeshed with black olives followed by some cedary tobacco characters, light earth and spice. Light to medium weight the palate has a relatively tight mouthfeel with flavours of blackcurrant laced with black olives over some earthy cedar and spice. Very dry finish with slightly chalky tannins. Modest aftertaste of black olives, cedar, earth and spice.
