Matured for 12 months in French oak. Excellent colour displaying a totally opaque midnight black core and a deep very dark purple black hue. Youthfully scented plum and blackberry aromas are followed by some fresh dark cherry and spicy vanillin cedar notes. Rich ripe and possessing a joosy mouthfeel the palate features flavours of dark plum and liquorice with following toasty vanillin cedar overwhelming the finish a little too much. Very fine grained velvet like tannins. Aftertaste of toasty vanillin cedar, a touch of liquorice, plum and spice.
