Matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. Deep purple red colour with a purple hue. Scented aromas of violets, ripe dark cherries and dark plums overlay some anise and spicy cedar. Light to medium weight with generous fruit the palate is quite spicy featuring flavours of spiced dark cherries and dark plums laced with traces of anise over some lightly toasted cedar and subtle meatiness with a very spicy finish. Fine grained tannins. Spicy aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, dark plums, anise and toasty oak.
