2013 Woodlands Benjamin Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and 2 % Cabernet Franc matured in French oak for 21 months. Beautifully coloured displaying an impenetrable black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Gorgeous, classic Cabernet aromatics of blackcurrants intermixed with red currants and mulberries gracefully ascend from the glass. Subtle notes of cedary tobacco characters, hints of black olive, dried herbs and spice ensue. Refined and elegant yet powerful the palate is blessed with blackcurrant and ripe mulberry flavours that possess an understated richness overshadowing a backdrop of perfectly integrated vanillin cedar, subtle tobacco infusions and spicy dried herbs. Outstanding balance with the very finessed tannins merely a support act to the gracefully textured fruit. Long blackcurrant, mulberry, vanillin cedar, light tobacco and spicy dried herb aftertaste.
