2013 Brick Kiln Shiraz

Matured in a mixture of 70% American and 30% French oak hogsheads for 21 months. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Scented liquorice top notes are followed by ripe blackberries and dark chocolate with underlying toasty vanillin oak and spice. Full bodied the palate is ambushed with a torrent of ripe succulent dark fruit flavours that include liquorice, dark plum and blackberry underpinned by toasty vanillin oak and pepper. Opulent mouthfeel with a slightly dryish finish and very fine grained velvet like tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of liquorice, dark plum, blackberries, toasty vanillin oak and pepper.
