2012 Vavasour Pinot Gris

Vavasour Wines are the pioneers of the Awatere Valley, a relatively new, slightly cooler 'sub-region' of Marlborough that lies over the hills to the south of Marlborough's Wairau River plain. Bright very pale straw colour with watery hue. The nose displays impressive lift with scents of ripe pear, tropical fruits, a hint of musk and confectionary emanating from the glass. Mouthfilling palate flavours of ripe pear, musk, tropical fruits and a touch of spice are complemented by a luscious well rounded texture with just a touch of residual sugar present. Long ripe pear, musk, confectionary and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years (2013-2015).
