2012 Terrazze Dell'Etna Cirneco

Made from Nerello Mascalese grapes. Deep dark red black tinged colour with a deep brick red hue. Aromas of stewed dark plum and liquorice mix with leather and earth notes. Some dried herbs and spice are also present. The palate is much fresher and richer than the nose would otherwise indicate. Medium bodied it serves up a generous flavour profile of black cherries and liquorice over scorched earth, dried herbs and spicy leather. Dryish finish with chewy tannins and a rustic aftertaste that has a lingering earthy leather element to it.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
